From 7 to 9 October 2025, we operated LIFL.11, mFL.12 and mHR.2 aboard R/V Litus in Venice Lagoon and the adjacent Adriatic during ESA’s PHY2FLEX campaign, with vessel support from CNR.
The LIFL.11 recorded surface fluorescence at 10 Hz on 8 and 9 October, both underway and at stations. The mHR.2 measured above-water reflectance, while the mFL.12 collected fluorescence spectra. The report covers five stations and compares the optical observations with water samples and reference instruments.
Vessel motion and foam affected the installation geometry. The analysis used outlier filtering and averaging; some mFL.12 observations were limited by technical issues, and one radiometer station was excluded after a measurement error. The surface maps below reproduce the field report’s chlorophyll-a results.
