LIF lidar measurements were collected in the south-eastern Baltic during a June 2006 transect through Gdańsk Bay and an August 2011 survey near the Polish and Sambian coasts. The 2011 campaign encountered a dense cyanobacterial bloom, with median chlorophyll-a near 29 µg/L.
The 2006 transect recorded background chlorophyll-a near 0.2 µg/L. Taken together, the two campaigns span more than two orders of magnitude in chlorophyll-a within the same regional water body and provide a practical check on retrieval performance under markedly different bloom conditions.
