From 26 to 28 May 2026, we worked aboard Sépia II with the Laboratoire d’Océanologie et de Géosciences between Boulogne-sur-Mer and the eastern English Channel. One LIFL.11, two mFL.12 lidars and an mHR.2 radiometer operated together.
The transects followed the transition from coastal water into the open Channel under clear conditions. The lidars measured fluorescence and scattering from dissolved and suspended constituents while the radiometer recorded above-water reflectance. Conventional water samples provided an independent reference for the optical observations.
The campaign was conducted with Cédric Jamet and the crew of Sépia II, operated by the marine station at Wimereux.
