Gulf of Feodosia surveys, 2015 and 2020

LIF lidar transects across the Gulf of Feodosia over four days in May 2015, repeated in July 2020, with chlorophyll-a near 0.1 µg/L and suspended matter past 5 mg/L in the highest readings

From 17 to 20 May 2015, a LIF lidar worked the Gulf of Feodosia between the town and Cape Chauda, recording chlorophyll-a, CDOM, and total suspended matter along each transect. A shorter transect covered the same water on 19 July 2020.

In May 2015 chlorophyll-a stayed near 0.09 µg/L across the gulf, with CDOM close to 0.2 a.u. Suspended matter had a median of 0.85 mg/L, and the highest 5% of readings exceeded 5.8 mg/L, most of them logged on 18 and 20 May. In July 2020 chlorophyll-a was near 0.03 µg/L and suspended matter near 0.7 mg/L.
