OQOMETHI deployments at Parentis and Ambès

Paired fluorescence lidars and hyperspectral radiometers operating unattended at two OQOMETHI micro-observatories in southwest France

The first OQOMETHI micro-observatories were installed in April 2026 at Parentis Lake and Ambès on the Dordogne estuary. Each site pairs an mFL.12 fluorescence lidar with an mHR.2 hyperspectral radiometer in an autonomous station developed by vorteX-io.

The stations were configured for two measurement cycles per hour. Fluorescence measurements characterise optically active constituents in the surface water, while daylight radiometry records reflectance for satellite comparison. The installations provide a field test of remote operation, reliability and data continuity over several months.

Both stations received updated instruments in July 2026. The work is part of OQOMETHI, coordinated by vorteX-io with satellite processing by Magellium and optical instruments by LIFeLiDAR, supported by France 2030 through ADEME’s Innov’Eau call.
